Thinker, curator, and the diplomat of Omnicent and Ukiha / mother of a 7 year-old boy

Born in Fukuoka City, Japan, Ryoko worked as an English-Japanese translator/interpreter for 15 years before moving to the rural community Ukiha in 2014, in search for a work-life style more in line with her ethics.

Ryoko initiated the art and culture collaboration between Ukiha City and the Netherlands with the help of the Dutch Embassy in 2015. Since then, numerous artists from the Netherlands have visited and stayed in Ukiha, leading to further connections with the artists from other countries of the world. In 2020, she bought a traditional styled house with a tea house to renovate into a residency for artists, and in January 2022, set up a company for art projects with Noritaka Tanaka.
